Wayne F. Flock, 67, of Sparta died Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on June 29, 1940 in Sparta to Fred and Helen (Ziegler) Flock. He attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Grade School. Wayne attended the Cashton Schools and then graduated from Sparta High School in 1958.

     He married the former Jackie Olson on February 20, 1960 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church After marriage they lived in Sparta. Wayne served at manager of the school bus transportation service in Sparta for 41 years. He retired in June of 2005.

     He was a member of the Sparta Eagles Club. Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the Green Bay Packers, and Nascar. After high school he played baseball and pumpkin ball with the Sparta City Leagues.

     He is survived by his wife, Jackie of Sparta; children, Fred (Kim) Flock of Sparta, Scott (Kay) Flock of Sparta, Kim (Tom) Waters of Sparta, Mark (Mary) Flock of Sparta; 11 grandchildren, Steven, Megan, Katlin, Zachary, Leah, Ethan, Justin, Jessica, Macey, Adam, Chelsea (Nate), Chynna; two great grandchildren, Colton, and Claire.

     He was preceded in death by his parents.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta with Father James Leary O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

     There will be a prayer service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

     The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
