Violet A. Sayers, 81, of La Crosse, died Friday, April 7, 2006 at Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta. She was born on April 21, 1924 to Joseph and Palma (Paulson) Arentz. She grew up in the Sparta area.

     She married Herbert Sayers on January 12, 1952 in Iowa. After marriage, they lived in La Crosse. She was a homemaker and traveled extensively. She enjoyed golfing at Maple Grove Country Club and Drugan’s Castle Mound Country Club.

     Violet is survived by her sister, Doris Meyer of Sparta; special friend, Tom Rye of Onalaska; two sisters-in-law, Ellen Arentz and LaValle Theilker both of Sparta; a brother-in-law, Harold Boettcher of Oshkosh, WI; and many very close nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert on April 21, 1984; three brothers, LaVerne, Lester, and Lyle Arentz; and a sister, Arlene Boettcher.
