Janet Schiesel, 84, of Sparta, fell asleep in Jesus Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta.  She was born on February 19, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI to Fred and Rose (Welk) Tessmann.

     She grew up in Milwaukee and married Ralph Schiesel on December 5, 1942.  After marriage, they lived in Milwaukee for 38 years where they raised 3 children.  They moved to Sparta in 1980.

     She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Wally) Norcross of Stanton, MI and Judie (Dewey) Olson of Sparta; 8 grandchildren, Kurt (Dinah), Peggy (Bill), Kelly (Chad), Kevin (Kassie), Kristie (Jason), Jeffrey (Lisa), Sarah (Adam), Alan, Denise, and Shelly; 14 great grandchildren, Zack, Jake, Eugene, Gary, Judy, Conrad, Scott, Christina, Katie, Kim, Klayton, Kaitlin, Kloie, and Fletcher; a sister-in-law, Liz Tessmann; many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; 1^st granddaughter, Patty in 1981; her husband, Ralph Sr. in 1996; her son, Ralph Jr. in 2002; 6 sisters, Rose, Leone, Ruth, Mabel, Myrtle, Mildred; a brother, Fred.

     Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Pastor David Lawson Sr. officiating.  Burial will be in Rockland Cemetery, Rockland, WI.

     Family and friends are invited to call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of services.
