Lorn P. Roehm

     Lorn P. Roehm, 65, of Sparta, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on April 5, 1941 in Negaunee, MI to Norman & Marian Roehm.  He grew up in the Marquette, MI area and graduated from Graveraet High School in 1959. He was a graduate of St. Martin College in Lacey, WA in 1975 while serving in the U.S. Air Force.  He served 23 years in the Air Force and retired from service in 1984.  In February 1985 he worked for the federal government at K.I. Sawyer A.F.B. in Gwinn, MI. He moved to Sparta and worked at Fort McCoy in April 1994 and worked until retiring in October, 2002.  He married Beth Brady on February 20, 1965 in Detroit Lakes, MN.

     He was a member of the American Legion Post 100 and Past Commander of V.F.W. Post 2112 both of Sparta.  He enjoyed golf and bowling playing on the Thursday night league in Sparta and the Monday night league in West Salem.

     He is survived by his wife, Beth of Sparta; a daughter, Stacey (Jim) Morrison of League City, TX; 3 grandchildren, Katie Roehm, Brian Roehm, and Stephanie Morrison; daughter-in-law, Priscilla Roehm of Carpio, ND; and many other relatives.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Douglas; and a grandson, Jared.

     Memorial services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sparta, with Reverend Jeffrey Wm. Miller officiating.  Burial will be at a later time in the Northland Chapel Gardens, Negaunee, MI.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services. 

     The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
