Peter S. Vepley III, 48, of Sparta died Friday, November 7, 2008 in his home. He was born on August 13, 1960 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Peter and Francis (Lang) Vepley Jr.

     He lived in Round Lake Beach, IL and joined the U.S. Army. Peter married the former Kathy Olson on April 4, 1981 in Sparta. After marriage they lived in Illinois for two years. They moved back to Sparta in 1983. Peter worked at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Tomah.

     He enjoyed shooting pool, yardwork, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

     He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Sparta; children, Jodi (Jamie) Meltesen of Kendall, Jennifer (Joe) Zidarin of Sparta, Christopher Vepley of Sparta; four grandchildren, Cody, Jordan, Breanna, Samantha; three step grandchildren, Dylan, Keiran, Sydney; his father, Peter (Pat) Vepley Jr. of Round Lake Beach, IL; his mother, Francis (Phil) McLamore of Gurnee, IL; four sisters, Donna (Jay) Lee of Spring Grove, IL, Cyndi (Darrell) Smith of Splendora, TX, Chrisy Vepley of Sherman Oaks, CA, Kathy (Alex) Guido of Aruba; three brothers, Tom (Mary) Vepley of Antioch, IL, David (Helen) Vepley of Trevor, WI, Donny Vepley of Twin Lakes, WI; his mother in law, Vera Olson of Sparta; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Peter and Virginia Vepley Sr., maternal grandparents, Martin and Francis Lang, and his father in law, Henry Olson.

     Memorial services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Reverend Ronald Sherid officiating.
