Patricia D. Osborne, 69, of Sparta died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at the University of California Medical Center, San Diego, CA. She was born on March 17, 1936 in Black River Falls, WI to Arnold and Cepha (Simons) Arneson. She grew up in Black River Falls and graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1954. Patricia attended the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. She married Ralph E. Osborne Jr. from Sparta in 1956. Patricia lived in Sparta her whole adult life. After being a homemaker and raising her three children she started working at Fort McCoy. She worked at Fort McCoy for 18 years, until retiring in 1998. Patricia was a former City of Sparta Council Person, member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 40 years, serving on the church council. A member of the Monroe County Historical Society, member and officer of the Ladies Golf Association, and a former member of the Sparta Jaycettes and won several Jaycette State Awards. Patricia was a former member of the Monroe County Republican Party and former president of the Monroe County Women’s Republican Party Patricia enjoyed walking her dog, Tahoe, playing golf, playing bridge, and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Brian A. Osborne of Ojai, CA, Stephanie K. Osborne of San Diego, CA, Robert (Nicole) Osborne of Sparta; grandchildren, Bailey N. Osborne of Ojai, CA, Theron E. Osborne of Sparta, WI; four sisters, Claryce (Wayne) Watkins of LaJolla, CA, Evelyn Lambert of Black River Falls, Mavis (Robert) Storandt of Cataract, P. Eloda Schwartz of Stroudsburg, PA; many nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Theron A. Arneson, Arnold M. Arneson Jr.; three sisters, Cora E. Gates, JoAnne A. Mallory, Donna J. Thayer. Memorial services will be Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sparta with Reverend Jeffrey Wm. Miller officiating. Friends and family may call at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
