Myrtle H. O’Neill, 93, of Sparta, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta.  She was born on March 21, 1914 to William and Martha (Zillmer) Stark.

     Myrtle grew up in the Little Falls area.  She married Rufus F. O’Neill on January 11, 1936 in Waukegan, IL.  They lived and farmed on the O’Neill family farm. Rufus passed away March 14, 1993. Myrtle became a resident at Rolling Hills in June 2007. She was a member of the Everready Club of Shamrock and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She also enjoyed visiting with friends.

     Myrtle is survived by 3 sons, Roger F. O’Neill of Cataract, Eugene J. (Virginia) O’Neill of Pine Hill, and Gary L. O’Neill of Black River Falls, WI; a sister, Lillie Paulson of Black River Falls; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Beatrice Eggert of Racine.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha; her husband; an infant daughter; 2 sisters, Ellen Santen and Lida Paulson; and 2 daughters-in-law, Bonnie (Ball) O’Neill and Madonna (Grant) O’Neill.

     Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, with Reverend Jeffrey Wm. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.

     Family and friends are invited to call at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of services.
