Mitchell L. Isensee, 15, of Sparta, died Thursday, March 20, 2008. He was born on May 26, 1992 in Sparta to Steven and Cheryl (Peterson) Isensee. Mitchell grew up in Sparta and attended Sparta Schools. He was currently in his sophmore year. He was a member of the Sparta United Methodist Church. Mitchell was on the Sparta High Varsity Bowling Team and also bowled on the Saturday morning youth league. He was an honor student at Sparta High.

     Mitchell was a People to People Sports Ambassador to Sydney, Austrailia in 2004 for bowling. He enjoyed camping, deer and goose hunting, 4 wheeling, video gaming, playing cards, swimming, golf and was looking forward to getting his drivers license.

     He is survived by his parents, Steven and Cheryl Isensee of Sparta; maternal grandmother, Donna Peterson of Rockland; aunts and uncles, Linda Isensee of La Belle, MO, Lynn and Kelly Isensee of Sparta, Gordy and Teresa Isensee of Sparta, Gary and Mary Claire Isensee of Sparta, Bruce and Vicki Peterson of Sparta, Steve and Sheri Peterson of Arkansaw, WI, Sandy and Dan Kruger of Sparta, Tim and Kendra Peterson of Cashton, and Ryan and Tina Peterson of Holmen; two special friends, Dave Flock of Sparta, and Donna Friedman of Sparta.

     He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Margaret Isensee; maternal grandfather, Orrin Peterson, and an uncle, Marvin Isensee.

     Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Sparta with Reverend David Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from noon until the time of services.

     In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
