Martha E. Seitz, 82, of Sparta, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at her home. She was born on April 15, 1923 at St. Mary’s Ridge, Monroe County, Wisconsin to Albin and Elizabeth (Dickman) Geier. She grew up in the St. Mary’s Ridge area.

     She married Orval J. Seitz on August 3, 1943 at St. Mary’s Ridge. After marriage, they lived in Pine Hollow and then moved to Wilton. They farmed in the Cashton area from 1947 to 1973. They then moved to Sparta.

     She is survived by three daughters, Joan (Arnold) VonRuden of Cashton, Beverly (Conrad) Gasper of Sparta, and Linda (David) Janusheske of La Crosse; two sons, James (Nancy) Seitz and David (Marian) Seitz both of Sparta; special son, Todd Molland of Virginia; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Steele and Marie (LaMont) Haas both of Cashton; three brothers, Henry Geier, Robert Geier, and Leo Geier all of Cashton; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Weber of Sparta; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Seitz of Sarasota, FL.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orval on December 11, 1996; and two brothers, Roger and Phillip.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta, with Father James Leary OFM Cap. officiating. Burial will be St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sparta.

     Family and friends are invited to call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, on Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. rosary and Tuesday at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 10:45a.m.
