Lee Allyn Wells, 20, of Sparta died Thursday, November 22, 2007 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse as the result of an automobile accident. He was born September 11, 1987 in La Crosse to Allyn and Annette (Cox) Wells. He grew up on the family farm in the Town of Leon and attended the Leon School. Lee graduated from Sparta High School in 2006. He played varsity football and basketball.

     Lee attended Winona State College in Winona the past two years. He worked at Choppers Drive Inn during the summer. He enjoyed hunting deer with both bow and gun, small game hunting, 4- wheeling and riding dirt bike.

     He is survived by his parents, Allyn and Annette Wells of Sparta; two sisters, Elizabeth Wells of Sparta, Michelle Wells of Sparta; his niece Addison Leis of Sparta; maternal grandmother, Shirley Cox of Sparta; paternal grandfather, James R. Wells of Sparta; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kermit Cox, and his paternal grandmother, Lois Wells

     Memorial services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Reverend Richard Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery, Leon.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of services.

     The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
