Jeffrey R. Riley, 47, of Sparta, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on May 25, 1958 in Eau Claire, WI. He grew up in the Sparta area and graduated from Sparta High School in 1976. He attended Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Rice Lake, WI. He then worked for a year in Tennessee as a telephone installation and repair man.

     Jeffrey worked at different jobs in the area with his most recent at Gold N’ Plump in Arcadia, WI. He moved back to Sparta in January of 2006. He enjoyed playing the drums, woodworking, sketching, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

     He is survived by his daughter, Roberta Riley of Wilton; his parents, Robert and Jean Riley of Sparta; a brother, Ronald Riley of Sparta; two sisters, Janean (Mark) Haas of Chippewa Falls, WI and Rhonda (Jack Miller) Schneider of Sparta; three aunts, Alice Bond, Jenny Arentz, and Alzina Hanson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. 

     Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, Reverend Matthew Toso officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.

     Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
