Jeffrey A. Swartz, 51, of Sparta died Saturday, October 27, 2007 in Minocqua as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on October 20, 1956 in Waukegan, Illinois to John and Judith (Morris) Swartz. He grew up in the Waukegan/Zion, Illinois area and graduated from Zion High School in 1976. He was a volunteer fireman for Bonnie Brook in Beach Park, Illinois.

     Jeff worked in the family Yamaha Dealership as a mechanic. He married the former Karen Walters on June 16, 1979 in Waukegan. After marriage they lived in Beach Park. Jeff worked at Johnson Motors and then for Coleman Cable. They moved to the Cataract area in 2003. He worked at D and S Manufacturing in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. He enjoyed motorcycling, hunting, ATV riding, and car racing.

     He is survived by his wife, Karen of  Sparta; three children, Shana Swartz of North Chicago, IL, Steven Swartz of Kenosha, WI, Jay Swartz of Kenosha, WI; three grandchildren, Michael, Omar, and William; his parents, John and Judith Swartz of Beach Park, IL; a sister, Laura (Rodney) Lacanne of Beach Park, IL; two nephews, and his mother-in-law, Therese Walters of Sparta.

     He was preceded in death by a brother, Kendall and his father-in-law, Marvin Walters.

      Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Bill Walters officiating.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
