Janice L. Vanderwall, 68, of Sparta died Saturday, March 29, 2008 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 22, 1939 in Sparta to Kleo and Myrtle (Hodgkins) Arnold. She grew up in Sparta.

     Janice married Donald Vanderwall on February 24, 1956 in Dakota, MN. After marriage they lived in Grandville, Michigan and moved to Sparta in 1972. She worked at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center from 1972 until she retired in 1998.

     She is survived by three daughters, Donna (Jeff) Schaller of Sparta, Carol (Richard) Rampton of Island Lake, IL, Sandra (Karl) Young of Bangor; a son Donald (Tammy Spears) Vanderwall Jr. of Sparta; 11 grandchildren, Terry, Keith, Desiree’, Ryan, Lee, Michelle, Janelle, Sevan,  Spring, Mitchel, and Marshall; eight great grandchildren, Cadin, Paityn, Kara, Autumn, Jalena, Leticia, Aliyah, and Seth; five sisters, Mary (Willis) Crouch of Tomah, Marlyce Scholze of Sparta, Judith (Larry) Torgerson of Westby, Sandra (Erling) Leis of Sparta, Nita (John) Austin of Sparta, ,; six brothers, Dennis (Mary) Arnold of Sparta, Rodney (Caralyn) Arnold of Sparta, Thomas (Theresa) Arnold of Sparta, Kelvin (Kelly) Arnold of Sparta, Timothy (Diana) Arnold of Sparta, Kevin Arnold of Sparta; nieces, and nephews; special friend and aunt, Ruby Peck of Sparta.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald on February 17, 1996; a daughter, Marilyn Stuart; a son, Leo Vanderwall; a sister, Jeanne Bell; two brothers, Gary, and Laurel; four infant siblings, and a great grandson, Nyckolas. 

     Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Pastor Bob Streeter officiating. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery, Leon.

     Friends and family may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.

     Memorials may be given to Gundersen Lutheran Hospice.
