Irene A. Anderson, 88, of Sparta died Friday, February 24, 2006 at Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls. She was born on March 22, 1917 in the Township of Little Falls, Monroe County, Wisconsin to Henry and Minnie (Daly) Voigt. She grew up in Printz Creek area.

     Irene married Frederick Anderson on June 1, 1945 at Peace Ev. Lutheran Church, Printz Creek by Reverend Toepel. After marriage they lived and farmed on the Anderson Family Farm. They lived there all of their married lives. She loved gardening, especially flowers; feeding the birds, river fishing, and crocheting.

     She is survived by her husband, Frederick of Sparta; her children, Loren F. Anderson of Sparta, Ardel I. (Richard) Lindow of Black River Falls, Allan H. (Julie) Anderson of Sparta, Orlen L. (Bonnie) Anderson of Sparta; 12 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William Voigt, Edwin Voigt, Harold Voigt; four sisters, Helen Wegner, Hattie Schober, Esther Voigt, and Sadie Voigt.

     Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Melrose with Reverend Floyd Brand officiating. Burial will be in Peace Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Printz Creek.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
