Condolences

Evelyn M. Heuer

     Evelyn M. Heuer, 86, of Cataract died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 in her home. She was born on December 10, 1921 at Hawk Island, Wisconsin between Black River Falls and Cataract to Royal and Lula (Sage) Eddy. She came from a large family of which only brothers are surviving and many nieces, and nephews.

     Evelyn was married to Donald Heuer on June 7, 1948 in Burr Oak, La Crosse County, Wisconsin. They celebrated 54 years of married life together. God blessed them with three children, Donald, Darla Kaye, and James.

     Evelyn loved fishing, flowers, crafts, reading, baking, and visiting with family, and friends.

     She is survived by two sons, Donald (Mary Anne) Heuer of White Haven, PA, James Heuer of Madison; five grandchildren, Christine (Lt. Col. Dave) Hill of Fort Hood, TX, Doni Lynn (Dr. Greg) Homish of Buffalo, NY, Shemane (Roy Jr.) Bullard of Sparta, Chelsie Heuer of Atlanta, GA, Dean Heuer of Muscatine, IA; five great grandchildren, Matthew, Meghan, and Nicholas Hill, Roy Lee Bullard III, and Jacobe James; three brothers, Gerald Eddy of Black River Falls, WI, Roy (Jenny) Eddy of Merrillan, WI, Jack (Betty) Eddy of Beloit, WI.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald on May 1, 2003; her daughter, Darla Kaye; four sisters, Fern, Sylvia, Erma Jean, and Nancy; and three brothers, Harold, Kenneth, and Edgar.

     Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Cataract with Reverend Jonathan Unverzagt officiating. Burial will be in the Cataract Cemetery, Cataract.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

     Socrates asked why man should fear death? If it is only sleep, then how sweet sleep is. If one lives after death – then that also is good!!
