Helen M. Miller, 76, of Sparta died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in her home. She was born on July 9, 1932 in Viroqua, Wisconsin to Harold and Mabel (Sordahl) Smith.

     Helen grew up in the Viroqua area. She married Henry L. Miller on October 10, 1948 in Norwalk. After marriage they lived in Sparta. They owned and operated Miller Truck Sales for 31 years.

     She is survived by her children, Lola Jean Christian of Sparta, Cheryl Louise (Russ) Wilson of Rockton, IL, Patricia Ann (Jeff) Hayes of Hartland, WI; six grandchildren, Denise Nebel, Adina Christian, Paul Young, Ryan Roberts, Tana Roberts, Beau Roberts; seven great grandchildren, Kyle Christian, Cassandra Christian, Logan Young, Kane Nebel, Cameron Nebel, Keegan Nebel, and Chase Nebel; three sisters, Shirley Latham of  Viroqua, WI, Mary Venegas of Citrus Heights, CA, Jan (Roger) Bolstad of La Crosse; a brother, Fred (Barb) Smith of Sparta; a sister-in-law, Maureen Smith of Onalaska; nieces, and nephews, and her feline friend, Tiger.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry on September 22, 2003; a granddaughter, Michelle Renee Young; two brothers, Eldon Smith and Raymond Smith.

     Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Reverend Dean Staffanson officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta. Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
