Mildred L. Hansen, 83, of Sparta died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta. She was born on October 22, 1924 in Sparta to Dewey and Lillian (Dayton) Terpstra. She grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School in 1942.

     Mildred married Frank Hansen on March 16, 1944 at the Congregational Church Parsonage. After marriage they farmed near Rockland for 21 years. They then moved to Sparta and Mildred worked at the Badger Paint Store. She then worked at Nuzum Lumber from 1975 until 1984. Frank passed away in 1986. Aunt Miff we will miss your honesty and determination and your pies will never be forgotten.

     She is survived by two sisters, Doris (Jon) Woodworth of Sparta, Linda (Willard) Pfuhl of Sparta; nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eva Louise Perschbacher, Deloris Johnson, and a brother, August Terpstra.

     Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Reverend David Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
