Glenn S. Getter was born on February 11, 1964 in Viroqua, WI to Robert and Carol Getter. He attended Viroqua schools until the 10^th grade and graduated from Westby High School in 1982.

     He then enlisted in the United States Navy serving from 1982 until 1986 where he was stationed in San Diego, CA. He married Patricia Stark in 1998. He held numerous management positions over the years and has been employed by Sink Factory for the last three years. He lived in Sparta for the last 14 years.

     He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, motorcycling, and softball. Despite all of these accomplishments, his greatest was being a wonderful dad. He loved spending time with his family and has been a soccer coach for his daughter the past two years.

     He passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the age of 42 years, 3 months, and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carlyle Springer and his paternal grandparents, Raymond and Vera Getter.

     He is survived by his wife Patricia Stark of Sparta; three daughters, Shyanne, Torrie, and Kassandra all of Sparta; two step-sons, Christopher Getter of San Diego, CA and Jason (Lacey) Stark and grandson, Austin Stark all of Sparta; his parents, Robert and Carol Getter of Viroqua; his brothers, Mark (Jackie) Getter of Kenosha, WI and Rich (Holly) Getter of Sparta; a sister, Brenda Volden of Viroqua; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Springer of Viroqua; and many nieces and nephews.

      Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, with Jeffrey Wm. Miller officiating.  Burial with full military honors provided by VFW Post 2112 will be in Farmers Valley Cemetery, rural Sparta.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
