Gladys L. Nauman, 84, of Sparta died Sunday, September 17, 2006 in her home. She was born on March 6, 1922 in Sparta to Arthur and Eleanora (Kroener) Siekert. She grew up in the Sparta area and graduated from Sparta High School in 1939. She married Raymond J. Nauman on May 1, 1943 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. After marriage they lived in the Sparta area.

     Gladys worked in Sparta and was a homemaker raising her family. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the P.C.C.W. and also a member of A.R.C.

     She is survived by her children, Dale (Sue) Nauman of Rockland, Ronald (Susan) Nauman of Sparta, Sue Ann Quackenbush of Sparta, Michael (Nancy) Nauman of Sparta, Mary Mueller of Sparta; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Delores (Glen) Kenyon of Sparta, Ruth Poss of Tomah, Nerine (Spike) Kasse of Los Gatos, CA; a sister-in-law, Vera Siekert of Sparta, and a brother-in-law, Leonard Nauman of Sparta.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond on November 21, 2001; a son, John Nauman; a daughter, Sandra Unnasch; a son-in-law, Kenneth Quackenbush, and a brother, Harold Siekert.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta with Father James Leary O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. There will be a rosary service at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
