Judith M. “Judy” Finn, 63, of West Salem and formerly of Sparta died Tuesday, November 13, 2007 in her home after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

     Judy was born in Sparta on July 28, 1944 to Norman and Fern (Vestreng) Olson. Judy graduated from Sparta Senior High School. On January 20, 1962 she married Eugene Aaron Finn. Judy was primarily a mom and an active volunteer for school, church, and community. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta.

     Judy had a fourteen-year career as an insurance and mutual funds representative for Aid Association for Lutherans until she and Gene moved to St. Michael, Minnesota in 1999. While in St. Michael she was an office manager and tax preparer for H and R Block. They moved to West Salem after retirement in 2005.

     She is survived by her husband, Gene of West Salem; two daughters, Kathryn Marie of Reedsburg, Patricia Jean (Gerard D’hont) of Brugge, Belgium; one son, Eric Douglas of Stevens Point; a grandchild, Claire D’hont Finn; two brothers, James (Mary) Olson of Onalaska, Jerold (Sherry) Olson of Waukesha; a sister, Joan (Tim) Sullivan of Verona; two brothers-in-law, Mike (Jane) Finn of Tomah, Tom (Anna) Finn of Wimberley, Texas; her mother, nieces, and nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her father.

     Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sparta with Reverend Jeffrey Wm. Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sparta.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Friday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
