Edward E. Teletzke Sr.

Edward E. Teletzke Sr., 83, of Sparta died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center, Sparta. He was born on February 20, 1925 in Columbus, Wisconsin to Emil and Sena (Thiel) Teletzke. He grew up around the Columbus and Beaver Dam areas. He served in the U.S. Navy from May 28, 1943 until being discharged on December 26, 1945.

     Edward married the former Dorothy M. Motta on May 21, 1945 in New Port, R.I. After marriage they moved to Beaver Dam, WI. They lived in Fox Lake, Oshkosh and moved to Sparta in 1965. Edward worked at the Wisconsin Child Center and then worked at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center until he retired. He was a painter his entire working career.

     Edward was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2112 and the American Legion Post 100.

     He is survived by his children, Patricia (Bruce) Hanke of Waupun, WI, Joanne (Tom) Cleven of Genoa, WI, Edward Teletzke, Jr. of Green Bay, WI; six grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy on November 11, 2006; a grandson, Edward Teletzke III, and a great grandson, Quinten Linde; a great great granddaughter, Serenity Andresen; four brothers, Alvin, Harry, Ervin, Wilbert; two sisters, Clara, and Minnie.

     Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Reverend Matthew E. Toso officiating. Burial with full military honors will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Highland Memory Gardens, rural Beaver Dam, WI.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

     The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
