Duane Arnold Bobst, 61, of Sparta, went to meet the Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, La Crosse, after being overcome by leukemia. He was born in Altadena, CA on July 29, 1944, to Walter and Marriell (Bey) Bobst. He attended the Leon School and graduated from Sparta High School in 1962.

     He is survived by his sister, Rita (Rolland) Green and his brother, Walter (Kristine) Bobst, all of Sparta. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends that he also considered to be part of his family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Michael Green.

     Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 702 East Montgomery Street, Sparta, followed by burial at the Leon Cemetery.

     Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Sparta Area Cancer Support (SACS) and the Franciscan Skemp Foundation.
