Douglas M. Tucker

     Douglas M. Tucker, 65, of Sparta died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in his home. He was born on December 27, 1942 in Sparta to Marvin and Cathryn (Smith) Tucker.  He grew up in the Cataract area.

     He married Patricia A. Smith on November 17, 1962 in Black River Falls, WI. After marriage they lived in Janesville and moved back to Sparta.  He worked at Northern Engraving Company in Sparta for over 40 years.  He retired in 2006.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and watching the Brewers, Packers, and the Badgers.

     He is survived by his children, Timothy (Shelley) Tucker of Sparta, Kelly (Barry) Roth of Black Earth, WI; grandchildren, Brittney and Malissa Tucker, Allison and Nathan Roth, and Zack and Stephanie Greeson; great grandchildren, Mariah and Heidi Stolpa; two brothers, Tad (Ruth) Tucker of Millston, Ronald (Zella) Tucker of Milton, WI; two sisters, Doreen (John) Bergman of Milton, WI, Jean (Norm) Winchell of Janesville, WI; nieces, and nephews; brother-in-law, Francis Brown of Sparta; sister-in-law, Delores Tucker of Black River Falls.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia on January 6, 2008; four sisters, Amelia Foster, Nancy Kobernick, Gloria Hendrickson, June Brown, and a brother, Bruce Tucker.

     Graveside services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Sparta with Father James Leary O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
