Doana J. Bailey, 79 of Angelo, died Friday, July 28, 2006 at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, La Crosse. She was born August 24, 1926 in Sparta to Winfield and Eudora (Burrows) Robertson. Doana grew up in the village of Angelo and graduated from Sparta High School.

     On February 26, 1951, she was united in marriage to Wesley M. Bailey. Doana served on the Angelo Cemetery Board and she was instrumental in the creation of a non profit organization to rehabilitate the Angelo Pond (R.A.P.). Doana worked at various jobs throughout her life time, but she felt her most challenging and rewarding job was raising her family.

     Doana is survived by her children, Michael of NM, Connie Anhalt of Sparta, Susan Greer of MO, Lloyd (Mary) of MO, Thomas of Hong Kong, Debra of Angelo, Joanne Yeoman of Angelo, Teresa (Gordon) Isensee of Sparta, and Kathleen Otto of West Salem; four step children, Sandra (Courtney) Gifford of WV, Wesley (Sue Knutson) of La Crosse, Pamela (Don) Schaefer of Madison, and Barbara Rosin of Alabama; a sister, Virginia Bowers of CO; a nephew, Harold Cole of CA; two nieces, Jane (Dave) Geyer of CA and Susan (John) Smith of CO; a sister-in-law, Alice Eberhart of IA; 27 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; her parents, Winfield and Eudora; two brothers, Gerald and John; and a sister, Dora Rand.

     A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 100, Sparta.

     Family and friends are invited to call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
