Dennis D. McClain, 62, of Sparta died Friday, August 18, 2006 in his home. He was born on July 5, 1944 in Robbinsdale, MN to Cleo and Evelyn (Holscher) McClain. Dennis attended Cullen Jr. High and Jesse H. Jones High School in Houston Texas. He graduated in 1962.

     Dennis was an avid Packer Fan and he enjoyed dancing and music. Many residents of Sparta will remember his wonderful garage sales. He worked at the U.S. Postal service as a clerk, Gould National Battery, Continental Can both in Houston, Texas and at ESB in Minneapolis as a quality control engineer at all three companys. He worked at Northern Engraving in Sparta for a number of years and recently began working for Monroe County as a nutrition site manager in Cataract.

      He is survived by two  brothers, Duane (Carol) McClain of Sparta, William (Sherry) McClain of Sparta; nieces and nephews, Tim (Karen) McClain of Sparta, Sandra (Steve) Mowry of Iron River, WI, Mindy McClain of Ypsilanti, MI, Angie (Patrick McNally) McClain of St. Paul, MN, Jennifer (Jorge Tierno) McClain of Malden, MA, Michael (Terah) McClain of Helena, MT, Christian (Vicki) McClain of Janesville, WI, Micah McClain of Sun Prairie, WI; great nieces and nephews, Tegan, Nyssa, Devin, Hector, Cordelia, Elizabeth, Emma Lee, and many friends.

     Memorial services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Reverend Jeffrey Wm. Miller officiating.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

     Memorials may be given to Rolling Hills Rehabilitation Center.

     The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta is assisting the family with arrangements.
