Sheryl J. Dempsey, 42, of rural La Farge, died peacefully Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua after many years with multiple sclerosis.  She was born in Sparta, WI on March 14, 1966 to Fred and Janice (Christopherson) Erdman.  She attended Sparta Schools and graduated from Winona Beauty College in 1985.  She worked for a short time at Curl Corner in Sparta.

     Sheryl was a devoted and loving mother and a very caring person. For several years she sang for weddings.  Over the years she enjoyed her perennial flower beds, making greeting cards and floral arrangements, and decorating for the holidays. 

     She is survived by her parents, Fred and Janice Erdman of Sparta; her son, Cody Endres of La Farge; maternal grandmother, Mary Christopherson; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; her Amish neighbors and best friend, Nan “Sis” Heckart; and many relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert Christopherson; maternal great grandparents, Clarence and Ruth Christopherson and Medion and Hilda Olson and Verna Olson; paternal grandparents, Fred and Margery Erdman.

     Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, with Reverend David Carlson officiating. A luncheon will follow at the funeral home.

     Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12 noon until time of services. Memorials are preferred.
