Davida “Davy”Arnold, 77, of Sparta died peacefully Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the Morrow Memorial Home, Sparta with family members by her side. She was born on September 23, 1930 in Norwalk to Harley and Lena (Hyatt) Sinner.

     She was married on May 3, 1949 to Elmer “Pete” Arnold. They lived in Sparta all of their married lives. Davy worked most of her life at the Dutch Inn as a waitress and cook. Her later years she worked at Rolling Hills.

     She is survived by a son, Dean (Linda) Arnold of Sparta; two daughters, Elizabeth (Terry) Dearman of Cataract, Virginia (Bruce) Backus of Sparta; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Doris (Fred) Steeves of Sparta; also by other relatives and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer “Pete” Arnold on July 10, 1994; her parents, and a brother, Richard Sinner.

     Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Vicar Leigh Waggoner officiating. Burial will be in the Leon Cemetery, Leon.

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

     The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
