Darla K. Heuer, 54, of Cataract, died Monday, January 2, 2006 at her home. She was born on July 2, 1951 in Sparta to Donald and Evelyn (Eddy) Heuer. She graduated from Sparta High School in 1969. She then attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, training to be a licensed practical nurse. She then attended Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC.

     Darla was employed with Fresenius Medical Care (BMA). She started in July 1989 as a Dialysis Patient Care Technician in Fayeteville, NC and transferred to Neenah, WI in July 1995. She then became Dialysis Inservice Technician.

     She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2004 and moved back to Cataract. She was always full of laughter with a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by many. She loved to be with family and friends, playing cards and scrabble and just reminiscing.

     Darla is survived by her daughter, Shemane (Roy Jr.) Bullard of Sparta; a grandson, Roy Bullard III; her mother, Evelyn Heuer of Cataract; two brothers, Donald Jr. (Mary Ann) Heuer of White Haven, PA and Jim Heuer of Madison; and many special friends and relatives who have been very close to her.

     She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Heuer Sr.

     Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, with Reverend Jonathan Unverzagt officiating.
