Vernon W. Crouch

      Vernon W. Crouch, 73, of Sparta died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse. He was born on August 26, 1934 in Wilton, Wisconsin to Willis and Mabel (Ferris) Crouch. He grew up in the Wilton and Tomah area.

     Vernon married the former Carol Miller on April 28, 1960 in Waukegan, Illinois. After marriage they lived in Waukesha, Kenosha, and Racine. They moved to Lynden Station, Wisconsin in 1970. They lived in Tomah, and then moved to Sparta. Vernon worked as a wood cutter in the area.

     He is survived by his wife, Carol of Sparta; children, Vernon (Pamela) Crouch of Sparta, Carol Ann Crouch of Cashton, Timothy Crouch of Sparta, Juanita (Ronald) Von Ruden of Sparta; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, two brothers, William Crouch of Tomah, Willis (Mary) Crouch of Tomah; three sisters, Louise Degler of De Forest, WI, Julia Colgate of Junction City, Kansas, Ruth Grutzmacher of Tomah.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Chester.

     Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Reverend Ronald Sherid officiating. Burial will be in Wood Cemetery near Valley Junction, WI

     Friends may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

     The Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
