Wayne C. Cooley

Wayne C. Cooley, 43, of Sparta died Friday, June 6, 2008. He was born on May 19, 1965 to Jerry L. and Mary L. (Grill) Cooley at St. Mary’s Hospital in Sparta. Wayne was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church, Summit Ridge. He was a Mass Server at St. John’s for many years.

      Wayne attended Norwalk grade school and then enrolled in Junior and Senior High School at Brookwood. He graduated in 1984 and then farmed with a neighbor for two years. Wayne worked for Schendel Construction until 1989 when he started working for Mathy Construction and worked as an end loader operator.

     Wayne married the former Jodi L. Miskowic on July 12, 1997 in Sparta. In 2001 Wayne went to work for Kramer Construction of Plain, WI as a foreman. A position he has held until he passed away.

     He enjoyed visiting with friends and family and was kind and generous to the people he encountered whether at work or having fun in his social life. Wayne was an avid Nascar fan. Loved tractor pulls snowmobiling, and 4 wheeling.

     He is survived by his wife, Jodi of Sparta; two children, Nicole (Jake) Deno of Sparta, and John Stuflick of Minneapolis; three grandchildren, Haylee Miskowic, Madison Miskowic, and Susan Deno; several foster children, especially, Kylie who was very near and dear to his heart; his parents, Jerry and Mary Cooley of Norwalk; two brothers, Bill of Cashton, Jerry (Janis Stanek) Cooley of Norwalk; he is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

     He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alvin and Loretta Grill; paternal grandparents, Lester and Alta Cooley.

     Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta with Reverend Matthew E. Toso officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery Summit Ridge.

     Friends and family may call at the Lanham-Miller Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
