Vernita A. Clements, 63, of Sparta, died Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, Sparta. She was born on December 5, 1944 in Sparta to Otis and Elverda (Hanson) Anderson. She grew up in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School.

     Vernita married Roger Clements on July 2, 1966. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.

     She is survived by her husband, Roger of Sparta; her daughter, Tami (Brandy) Ender of Sparta; her grandchildren, Bodhi, Keith, and Tre; and 2 brothers, Verdell (Joyce) Anderson and Verlyn Anderson both of Sparta.

     She was preceded in death by her parents.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sparta, with Father James Leary OFM Cap officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sparta.

     Family and friends are invited to call at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
