Meet Our Staff

Jeff Schanhofer
Jeff Schanhofer, a licensed funeral director, was born and raised in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School in 1995. He attended Viterbo College and received a B.S. in Biology before attending Worsham Mortuary College in Chicago.

Jeff is married to Amy (Zeman) and lives in Sparta. They have a son, Trygve Robert and a little black dog, Lefse. He enjoys golfing and being with friends and family. He is an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoys trips to Wrigley Field.

Jeff is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Sparta Butterfest, Junior Achievement, and the Good Citizen Volunteer Organization.

Sheryl Lakowske
Sheryl Lakowske has worked at the funeral home since 1999 as the office manager.

A Sparta native, she's married to Larry Lakowske and has 2 sons, Mark and Ryan.

She enjoys gardening, camping, and crafting.

She is a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ and the Sparta Women's Association.

 Briana Brookshaw

She was born and raised in Sparta and graduated from Sparta High School. She attended the University of Minnesota where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mortuary Science.

She enjoys her dog, Stella, volleyball, and spending time with family and friends. 

She is very active in the community and enjoys being back in her home town.
